iMuranesi is an artistic venture born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbin. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, connected with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbin family is one of the renowned medieval clans. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, on the orders of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin clan was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – depicting two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
