iMuranesi is an artistic venture born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbin. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, connected with glassmaking from Murano.
iMuranesi products are unique thanks to the combination of several equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of innovative manufacturing methods, refined and modern design, and strong interaction between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is a popular international brand that combines modernity with traditional Murano glassmaking values.
The Barbin family is one of the well-known medieval clans. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, on the orders of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin clan was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, at that time, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
