Eric Stepniewski's fascinating journey with bronze began in 1973 in his family’s hometown of Paris, where he started working as an antique dealer. After many years managing his Gallery, he took over the renowned company specializing in tinning and antique restoration: Bettencourt.

In 1989, he decided to elevate the manufactory to a higher level and moved to Poland, his parents’ homeland, to create his own collections, utilizing his favorite raw materials: gold, silver, malachite, and lapis lazuli.

Materials

MALACHITE

Malachite is a semi-precious stone originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is used in jewelry as well as for decoration (vases, columns, clocks, furniture), especially in Russia since the 18th century. For health reasons, it’s recommended to wear it as a bracelet due to its anti-rheumatic healing properties. We are proud to work with a stone that becomes increasingly rare each year.

LAPIS

Lapis lazuli is a semi-precious stone from Afghanistan. It has been used since antiquity (including in Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus) and in jewelry. Since the 18th century, it has also been used for furniture, vases, clocks, and various decorative objects.

BRASS

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, with zinc content up to 40%.

GOLD

Gold is one of the most sought-after materials in the world. We use it in nearly all our creations. Depending on the country and the value, it has different karatages: 9K, 14K, 18K, and 24K (pure gold). To gold-plate our items and ensure the highest quality for our clients, we use only 24-karat gold via galvanization.

CRYSTAL

We mainly use crystal for lamps or vases of various shapes and colors. It is hand-cut by specialized artisans.
