Exceptional antique furniture and accessories can be a perfect idea for interior design. Currently, there is a growing appreciation for high-quality vintage items that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style, is prominent. Early in this century, antique styles such as Neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe, and the English Victorian style emerged. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque influences.

Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by Napoleon’s reign. It features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture, associated with Louis XVI style, also draws heavily from ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique pieces in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture designed to exude splendor and luxury. These pieces used selectively chosen materials to emphasize their grandeur.

Today, we can see how the Baroque style has greatly influenced modern classical furniture, which often reflects the aesthetics of the past. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a significant mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and solid, often using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and relief decorations. These products were quite distinctive but introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly conceived chest furniture. Mythology and antiquity inspired many details, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws and eagle heads are common motifs in Renaissance-style furniture. Today, many global brands recreate such pieces, drawing inspiration from Italian and French artisans. This reflects admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country perceived furniture production differently, giving each style a unique character. This is especially crucial when searching for exclusive antique pieces suitable for your interior.

The key to stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is what matters most to buyers, as the market is filled with counterfeits. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching the description and photographs. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
