Material of the highest quality combined with a long history makes Seltmann a household name. Founded in 1910, the company "Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann" (Seltmann Weiden) evolved into a group through the acquisition of "Königlich Privierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau" (Königlich Tettau) along with four specialized porcelain manufacturers and an art department established in 1990 and 1995 as a family business. In five factories, approximately 800 employees produce exquisite porcelain for households, hotels, and the hospitality industry. Another goal is the production of particularly valuable figurines and gifts.

Thanks to the Königlich Tettau porcelain factory (the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria), the Seltmann Group has over 200 years of experience in porcelain production. The renowned naturalist Alexander von Humboldt fought for the establishment of the manufactory. This took place in 1794 under the privilege of Prussian King Frederick William II.

Even longer porcelain craftsmanship tradition (almost 250 years) can be found at the site of the oldest still-operating porcelain factory in Thuringia in Rudolstadt / Volkstedt. The "Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory" was expanded in 2007 to become a "translucent porcelain manufactory," and four factories with an art department in Volkstedt were merged "under one roof." Quarzsandwerke Weissenbrunn supplies high-quality raw materials and ready-made masses for the ceramics industry and is part of the corporate group.

 As one of the few porcelain manufacturers operating worldwide, the Seltmann Group possesses exceptionally broad know-how in production: from high-tech manufacturing in one of Europe's most modern porcelain factories to pure craftsmanship in factories (located in Rudolstadt / Thuringia). In addition to continuously developing specialized fields in hotel and catering, food service, and motivational programs, the Seltmann company group primarily targets families in the domestic porcelain industry, who usually value a wide range of products available for purchase later.
