A silver fork is a perfect addition to any elegant table setting

For hundreds of years, people ate exclusively with their hands, tearing off pieces of food to then place them in their mouths. To restore the elegance and sophistication of European feasts, as well as the culture of dining, noble tables began to be adorned not only with elegant tableware but also with exclusive cutlery, including silver forks. In the past, their handles often bore a noble coat of arms, today they feature unique decorations. An example of this can be the contemporary sets of silver patterns by Reed&Barton, so desired by today's Ladies of the House, who cannot imagine an elegant table setting without their noble embellishment.

Table fork made of silver - 925 fineness

Silver with a 925 fineness is not only hard but also malleable. Therefore, it is easy to create not only jewelry but also beautiful and richly decorated forks and other premium cutlery. The first forks in the world were created in the 4th century in the Middle East. Silver-plated versions gained popularity only about 1500 years later, first among magnates, then among ordinary people. Today, silver forks are almost like Polish family heirlooms. They have become an integral part of every luxurious table setting. At Luxury Products, you can buy them in various sizes and weights, for example, forks with a length of 13 cm typically have a silver weight of about 20 - 25 grams.

Premium silver cutlery collections as a gift for a child

Both premium silver cutlery from Schiavon, and the forks themselves made from this noble steel are an ideal gift and keepsake for a child at a christening, whether from grandparents, godparents, aunts, or family friends. Even if the gift idea is duplicated, nothing is lost. Silver cutlery is an investment in the future. Noble steel never loses its value. Moreover, to make a silver fork a unique keepsake, it is worth personalizing it with engraving. This is done on the handle, including, for example, the child's name and birth date, the inscription Holy Baptism and the date of the ceremony, wishes, or a client-selected phrase.

Advantages of Silver

Find out why it's worth investing in original, highest-quality silver forks:

  • They are resistant to corrosion. 925 silver is a noble metal, thus stainless.
  • They are extremely durable and resistant to mechanical damage, making them last for many generations and dishwasher safe.
  • They are safe for health, as they have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
  • They are elegant, luxuriously decorating the table during exclusive parties, as well as family Sunday dinners.
  • They are easy to personalize with engraving, allowing you to create your own unique collection.

How to Clean Silver Cutlery?

There are several methods for cleaning silver forks, spoons, knives, and teaspoons. The first is a bath in special, silver-dedicated chemical solutions. The cutlery is immersed in them for a few minutes (the exact time is provided in the manufacturer's description), then rinsed with lukewarm water and dried with a soft cloth. Unfortunately, this method is not suitable for oxidized silver.

An equally effective but eco-friendly solution for cleaning silver forks can be made at home. Simply mix water with vinegar and baking soda. For 100 ml of water, add four tablespoons of vinegar and four of baking soda. Leave the cutlery in this mixture for about 15 minutes. Then, similar to chemical preparations, rinse them in lukewarm water and polish to a high shine.

Silver cutlery from Zaramella Argenti can also be washed in dishwashers. Just remember that strong chemical agents in tablets and liquids often contain chlorine, which causes the silver layer to oxidize. Therefore, when washing silver forks in the dishwasher, use traditional, chlorine-free powders and special dishwasher cassettes.

Also, remember to store 925 silver in a sealed and dry place after use. If we take proper care of our silver forks, we will be able to pass them on to future generations.
