iMuranesi is an artistic venture by Giampaolo Barbin. It was he who brought the legacy of one of the most renowned Venetian families, associated with glassmaking, into this project.
The iMuranesi models are unique due to the combination of several equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of modern manufacturing methods, sophisticated and bold design, and strong interaction between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is a popular brand with an international reach, blending modernity with traditional glassmaking values.
However, behind this modern model lies a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. At that time, the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. Today, its name is recognized worldwide, and the glass originating from there is breathtaking.
The Barbin family has left its mark on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century. In 1658, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin family was included in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
