iMuranesi is an artistic venture born from the imagination of a descendant of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking, Giampaolo Barbiní.

Behind this designer project lies a tradition that dates back hundreds of years, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, its name is recognized worldwide, and the products originating from there delight crowds.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval clans. In 1658, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbiní family was included in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, in other words, in the list of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
