Each year, a city passionate about art, possessing tangible examples of timeless beauty and boundless respect for human achievements, inspires a new model of a unique pen.
Launching the “Montegrappa Citta d’Arte Venezia” collection, the company dedicates it to the one-of-a-kind and captivating city built on 118 islands. Giuseppe Aquila, Montegrappa’s director, states that “Bassano del Grappa, home of Montegrappa, was part of the ancient Venetian Republic.
Skilled artisans used an old mould casting method to give each pen the impression of artistic sculpture. To showcase the essence of Venice, the Basilica of Saint Mark, one of the most fascinating and beloved architectural monuments of the city, is depicted, with four magnificent horses above the main entrance and rosettes on the window facades. The basilica, consecrated in 1094, is the most famous example of Byzantine architecture in Italy, symbolizing the commercial and artistic significance of the maritime Venetian Republic.
The lion decorating the top of the cap, crafted using mould casting, surrounds the centuries-old symbols of Saint Mark. An elegant clip highlights the characteristic moving ball of this brand. The cap and the upper part of the barrel, made from resin in Venetian red, represent the strength and wealth of this fascinating seaside republic. In this limited edition, 32 fountain pens made from precious 18-karat gold and resin have been produced.
To evoke the thrill of seeking beauty and art, each pen is packaged in an elegant red box shaped like a treasure chest, safeguarding the secrets hidden among the narrow streets of the city.
