The great Renaissance astronomer is the first theme of the Avanguardia series – a tribute from Montegrappa to revolutionary thinkers. Made of 925 silver, Nicolaus Copernicus places the sun at the center of everything – a silent, tangible reminder of the constant curiosity about the world around us.
The embellishment of the body illustrates Copernicus’s heliocentric theory, according to which eight individually enameled planets orbit around the central solar body with vermeil. The embroidered cross-stitch pattern indicates his Polish roots.
