Description

High-quality porcelain combined with a prestigious history creates the synonym of the Seltmann brand. Founded in 1910, the company "Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann" (Seltmann Weiden) evolved into a group of enterprises through the acquisition of "Königlich Privierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau" (Königlich Tettau) along with four specialized porcelain manufacturers and an art department established in 1990 and 1995 as a family business. Five factories employing around 800 staff produce excellent porcelain for households, hotels, and catering. Another goal is the production of particularly original figurines and gifts.

Thanks to the Königlich Tettau porcelain factory (the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria), the Seltmann Group has over 200 years of experience in porcelain manufacturing. The renowned naturalist Alexander von Humboldt fought for the establishment of the manufactory, which took place in 1794 under the privilege of Prussian King Frederick William II.

Even longer tradition (almost 250 years) can be found at the oldest still-operating porcelain factory in Thuringia, in Rudolstadt / Volkstedt. The "Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory" was expanded in 2007 into a "translucent porcelain manufactory," and four factories with an art department in Volkstedt were merged "under one roof." Quarzsandwerke Weissenbrunn supplies high-quality raw materials and ready-made masses for the ceramics industry and is part of the corporate group.

As one of the few porcelain manufacturers operating worldwide, the Seltmann Group possesses exceptionally broad know-how in production: from high-tech manufacturing in one of Europe's most modern porcelain factories to pure craftsmanship in factories (located in Rudolstadt / Thuringia). In addition to continuously developing specialized fields in hotel and catering, collective catering, and motivational programs, the Seltmann group primarily targets family-run companies in the domestic porcelain industry, which usually value a wide range of products available for purchase later.

The spectacular porcelain of the Seltmann Group meets the highest international standards in design, functionality, durability, and prestige. These product properties, whose high quality standard can only be maintained in Germany, are fundamental. The entrepreneurial Seltmann family places great importance on reliability and flexibility, as well as on the development of environmentally friendly production techniques, which are immediately implemented in production facilities. Production knowledge, passed down through generations in the Upper Palatinate, remains irreplaceable to this day, ensuring jobs with the "Made in Germany" quality mark — here in Germany.

At SELTMANN WEIDEN, production according to the strictest environmental and health standards has always been a priority. To credibly and sustainably communicate this environmental concept across the Seltmann Group, Seltmann developed an eco-friendly quality mark for porcelain production. This environmental quality mark, whose standards are "lived" at SELTMANN WEIDEN, is based on the following criteria.

Made in Germany

The group's porcelain meets the highest global standards in design, functionality, durability, and exclusivity.

It is precisely these product properties, whose high quality standards can only be maintained in Germany. In line with this philosophy, the Seltmann Group — one of the few porcelain manufacturers — keeps all its production facilities in Germany. Seltmann has developed its own "Made in Germany" seal to credibly and sustainably showcase the company's emphasis on quality and workplace safety. Manufacturer information
