Description

The modern Emel shelving unit adheres to strict design directives, championed by the renowned Italian rationalist architect Aldo Rossi. The urban influence of Rossi and Malabar's aesthetics converge, creating a contemporary and captivating piece.

In the contemporary Emel shelving unit, the shelves are made from solid rosewood and finished with an eclectic veneer laminate, while the base is crafted from brass, giving this classic furniture piece a modern edge.

The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has left its mark at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar furniture production originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that guide such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive blend of exclusive furniture.

The various techniques used in producing natural wood products yield incredible effects, as seen in Malabar's exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Juicy and vivid hues dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the bold furniture designs.

The company's name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The rarity of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.

And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The company employs the most luxurious types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, sycamore, basswood, olive wood, bird's eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaf is applied, followed by lacquering.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger Skin, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extreme, and Travertine.
