Montegrappa, ambassador of Italian creativity, pays tribute to the global cultural heritage by introducing a new family of pens in a limited edition. Each year, a city passionate about art, possessing tangible examples of timeless beauty and boundless respect for human achievements, inspires a new model of an exceptional pen.
Launching the “Montegrappa Citta d’Arte Venezia” collection, the company dedicates it to the unique and captivating city built on 118 islands. Giuseppe Aquila, Montegrappa’s director, states that “Bassano del Grappa, home of Montegrappa, was part of the ancient Venetian Republic.
Skilled artisans used traditional casting methods with molds to give each pen a sense of artistic sculpture. To showcase the essence of Venice, the design features St. Mark’s Basilica, one of the city’s most fascinating and beloved architectural monuments, with four magnificent horses above the main entrance and rosettes on the window facades. The basilica, consecrated in 1094, is the most famous example of Byzantine architecture in Italy, symbolizing the commercial and artistic significance of the maritime Venetian Republic.
The lion adorning the top of the cap, crafted using mold casting, surrounds centuries-old symbols of Saint Mark. An elegant clip highlights the brand’s characteristic moving ball. The cap and the upper part of the body, made from resin material in Venetian red, represent the strength and wealth of this fascinating seaside republic.
To evoke the thrill of seeking beauty and art, each pen is packaged in an elegant red box shaped like a treasure chest, to protect the secrets hidden within the narrow streets of the city.
In this limited edition, fountain pens made of precious 18-karat gold and resin material have been produced.
