The Tibaldi Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) 18k gold ballpoint pen is a valuable work of art, perfectly designed with a pattern inspired by medieval chainmail armor. The cap features an elegant depiction of a Maltese knight, with a discreet engraved panel above, allowing for personalization with the end of the username or initials. The most recognizable symbol associated with the Order, the Maltese cross, adorns the barrel. It is hand-painted by skilled artist Loreno Straffi. Finished in silver, it contrasts beautifully with the carnelian gemstone decorating the ornament. The clip, shaped like a tie, resembles early 20th-century pen designs. The construction of the clip, ending with a small ring, facilitates placing the pen in a case or jacket pocket. Laboratory tests have confirmed that the clip is secured in a ring with a Clou de Paris pattern.
Thanks to extensive technical and laboratory research, the clasp is mounted on the ring rather than on the cap.
