The Tibaldi Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) fountain pen in 18k gold is a valuable work of art, perfectly designed with a pattern inspired by medieval chainmail armor. The cap features an elegant depiction of a Maltese knight, with a discreet engraved panel above it, allowing for personalization with a user name or initials. The most recognizable symbol associated with the Order, the Maltese cross, adorns the barrel. It is hand-painted by a skilled artist, Lorena Straffi. Finished with silver, it contrasts beautifully with the carnelian gemstone decorating the ornament. The clip, shaped like a tie, resembles early 20th-century pen designs. The construction of the clip, ending with a small ring, facilitates placing the pen in a case or jacket pocket. Laboratory tests have confirmed that the clip is secured to a ring with a Clou de Paris pattern.
Thanks to extensive technical and laboratory research, the clip is mounted on a ring rather than on the cap.
