Genio Creativo Tributo ad Antonio Stradivari Fountain Pen

Antonio Stradivari - In 2007, Montegrappa launched the latest, once-a-year "Genio Creativo" collection. In this newest edition, Montegrappa aimed to pay tribute to the genius of outstanding historical figures. The first edition, a limited annual collection of Genio Creativo, is dedicated to Antonio Stradivari – the brilliant maker of legendary string instruments.

To this day, no one has been able to match this 17th-century luthier, nor break the mystery of the sound quality of the instruments crafted by him. Stradivarius violins are considered the greatest achievements in the history of luthiery, serving as an unmatched benchmark for craftsmen of later eras. Most of the greatest virtuosos in history have played on these instruments. They often bore the names of famous owners, e.g., the 1717 violin called Salerno belonged to Henryk Wieniawski. Authentic Stradivarius instruments are now an extraordinary rarity, with only about 1,000 in existence worldwide. Their market-driven prices, starting at one million dollars, continue to rise.

Today’s creators of the Antonio Stradivari fountain pen collection have crafted instruments worthy of a virtuoso. Each pen, topped with a white gold nib, features gold elements in yellow color and initials A.S. An exceptional signature that master Stradivari used to place on his creations. The delicate, almost sensual design of the collection reflects the narrowing shape of the violin’s middle section.

The clip of the cap is also designed to evoke the strings of an instrument. Additionally, the cap is decorated with an engraving of Montegrappa surrounded by a background of pure topaz – a symbol of human genius’s uniqueness. The true soul of the instrument, however, is echoed in the wood used to make the violin. Its color and texture are reflected in the precious resin mass covering the pen’s body.

Montegrappa’s masters, through their creativity and passion, have created a masterpiece, whose excellence in turn became a source of further inspiration.
