FUTURISTIC INSPIRATION OF THE THIRTY
In the 1930s, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and the futurists: Fillia, Fortunato Depero, Nicolaj Diulgheroff, Nino Strada, Bruno Munari, Alf Gaudenzi, and Mario Anselmo, along with the Mazzotti family, created ceramics expressing the futurist movement in the kiln at Albisoli (Italy).
These precious ceramic art pieces are today produced by master Tullio Mazzotti with the same passion, materials, and manual techniques as in the 1930s. Mazzotti ceramics from Albisoli are housed in major museums in Italy and around the world. In 2014, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York organized the exhibition “Italian Futurism 1909–1944: Reconstruction of the Universe,” showcasing Mazzotti’s ceramics.
