Description
Following the unveiling of the most magnificent fountain pens in the history of writing over the past twenty years: “The Dragon” – 1995, “Eternal Bird” – 2005, “Aphrodite Special Edition” – 2007, crafted by one of the most prestigious manufacturers operating in the luxury writing accessories industry, Montegrappa, it is now time for another fountain pen that has captivated collectors with its form, released in 2012 – Cult Chaos. A delicate combination of emotion and craftsmanship. Montegrappa has always been known for meticulous, detail-oriented, and complex production methods, as well as for its style and refined product design that embody the soul of Italy. With the Chaos pen, the manufacturer returned to producing exclusive creations of the highest quality, which in turn express so many feelings through the simple act of writing.
The limited Cult Chaos pen is an essence of passion, technology, and exquisite design. It is a work of art that, beyond its regal finish, primarily provides aesthetic sensations and wonderful emotions. I invite you to a visual spectacle! Chaos immediately evokes the excellence of limited pens from 1995-2007. Uncompromising perfection, meticulous detail, finesse of execution, and incredible expressiveness place Chaos at the very top among the most magnificent limited pens.
The theme and design of the pen were inspired by Sylvester Stallone’s latest film: “The Expendables”. In collaboration with Montegrappa’s artists, the actor and brand ambassador turned to classical art to express his vision of chaos. To ensure that the message’s language is refined and not exaggerated, they drew inspiration from 16th-century artists. Albrecht Dürer is another artist who influenced the design of the “Chaos” pen. This German painter, graphic artist, and theorist from Nuremberg was widely regarded as the most important Renaissance artist in northern Europe. His most famous works include the woodcut of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He is known worldwide as a master of small forms due to the small size of his engravings. The last influential figures in the design of the “Chaos” pen were the Pollaiuolo brothers. Italian brothers who, as sculptors, painters, engravers, and goldsmiths, were involved in numerous projects, and their collaboration was signed with a joint signature. Their most notable works include the altarpiece in the chapel of the Portuguese cardinal in San Miniato al Monte and the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian. Everything they created together and individually had a significant impact on the era in which they lived.
Sylvester Stallone explains: My idea of Chaos is a sense of the Renaissance, where things were simpler and perhaps more sublime, in contrast to our current technological society.
The “Chaos” pen is crafted from precious materials and produced in a limited edition. The body of the pen is made from black pearl celluloid coated with sterling silver or 18-karat gold. The pen components are finished by experienced Montegrappa artisans. They feature antique finishes with accents of semi-transparent shklif in yellow and red, colors symbolizing fire. The design is characterized by a confrontation of life and death, historically represented by early forms of life on Earth: reptiles such as snakes and lizards, or skulls.
Next to the distinctive pen is a strongly emphasized clip in the shape of a sword, adorned with a fist and skull.
The “Chaos” fountain pen is the first in the “Cult” collection and is available in a limited quantity of 1,000 fountain pens and 912 ballpoint pens made from sterling silver, representing the founding year of Montegrappa – 1912. Additionally, this collection includes 100 fountain pens and 100 ballpoint pens made from 18-karat gold, as well as 10 fountain and ballpoint pens crafted from 18-karat gold with gemstones, intended for enthusiasts of cinema legends and Montegrappa.
