In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, which produces exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop seems to be entirely detached from the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from, among others, buffalo horns, bison, deer, or 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners suggest that although their knives are intended for everyday use, they should be treated with due respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
