The philosophy of Berti Knives, a producer of exclusive knives for various purposes, is different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be completely detached from the trends that have taken place worldwide over the years of its operation. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of the knives produced. For this reason, their company's philosophy places great emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any changes. They are very welcome, provided that they introduce elements consistent with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles are among others made from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners suggest that although their knives are intended for everyday use, they should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
