With pleasure, we present the exceptionally designer brand Ongaro & Fuga, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro. The combination of these two highly creative individuals resulted in a bold and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and incredible Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a great nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides lively material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium, which is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been continuously working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is a highly significant initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

What does production look like?

This is a truly extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process. It is the work of hands, heart, and soul exhausted by the effort. For this reason, Ongaro and Fuga’s exquisite mirrors come with a price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and a prime example of how strong European family workshops are. For centuries, it has been artisans who drove the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design. Using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones, they refine sharp edges and uneven surfaces step by step. And so, from a brilliant idea, an exclusive harmony emerges, blending tradition with modernity! It’s magic—these mirrors, if desired, can become the focal point of your interior.
