Montegrappa dedicated the Limited Edition of the curated collection Tribute Collection to an event of great historical significance. For those of you familiar with the Kazan pen version from 2005, the new Kazan 2011 model is sure to impress! The Montegrappa Kazan Limited Edition returns with a design for a new, more intricate masterpiece! The pen is truly stunning. The design retains key elements of the previous version, such as the crown cap in the form of a dome, arabesque engravings, and the city’s coat of arms, but Montegrappa has chosen a noticeably different finish this time.
Instead of being fully plated in silver, the body is made of green resin (the official color of the city), with a finish in pure silver, which is engraved to create a two-tone effect. The cap also features this design, with the top (dome-shaped) in blue, reminiscent of the Kul Sharif Mosque in Kazan, the oldest in the city, recreated on the crown using only cold enamel technique! On the pen, you can see various elements of the city, the third capital of Russia. It features the city’s coat of arms with a rooster in the background, as well as the silhouette of the famous Soyembika Tower. The silver is engraved in an arabesque style to evoke the interior of a mosque (inscription inspired by the Quran).
Kazan is one of the most important Russian cities due to its cultural heritage and historical significance. Located east of Moscow, on the banks of the Volga River, it is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was the first to be part of Russia when it was besieged and captured by Ivan the Terrible.
This beautiful limited pen is once again a tribute to this great city, continuing the design of the previous model released in 2005. Available as both a ballpoint and a fountain pen. The Kazan Limited Edition consists of 1000 pieces: 50 fountain pens in 18K rose gold, 500 fountain pens in silver, and 450 rollerballs in silver.
The pen is a masterful work by Montegrappa and is dedicated to a city that has been home to many cultures and religions.
