The first is based on the idea that everyday objects should be aesthetic items, but primarily functional, crafted in an elegant, simple manner—with symmetrical lines, from solid materials, where every element of the final form is carefully considered.
Art Nouveau is the complete opposite of Thistle—decorated items that combine functionality and artistic craftsmanship, elaborate Art Deco, and asymmetry.
