The first is based on the idea that everyday objects should be aesthetic items, but primarily functional, crafted in an elegant, simple manner—with symmetrical lines, from solid materials, where every element is carefully considered in the final form.
Art Nouveau is the complete opposite of Thistle—decorated items that combine functionality with artistic craftsmanship, elaborate Art Nouveau style, and asymmetry.
