Description

"I don't want to be interesting. I want to be good." Mies Van der Rohe is an inspiration for Proportion and its distinctive symmetrical design. This contemporary console combines simplicity with refined, natural design, attracting those who prefer functional and modern furniture.

While ironwood and a piano black finish pay homage to Rohe, the modern Proportion console has become an unforgettable example of the best Portuguese craftsmanship.

The Proportion Console is part of the World Architects Collection, a tribute to the most dedicated architects in history, featuring an exclusive and limited furniture collection.

The Malabar brand was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has showcased its work at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing design.

Malabar’s furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of exclusive furniture.

Various techniques for producing natural wood products yield incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and bold hues dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.

In addition to wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.

The company's name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.

This continues today, as Malabar sets very individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are highly liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.

And these are exactly the products we love and bring to the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The brand employs the most exclusive types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.
