The philosophy of the Berti Knives brand is different from this situation, producing exclusive knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory seems to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its main guiding principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the products made. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to new ideas. They are very welcome, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing vision and can meet long-standing quality standards.
Unlike the competition, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles are made from materials including buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners suggest that, despite being designed for everyday use, their products should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
