This high-quality edged weapon is a ceremonial sabre, a model used by mounted hunters, hussars, and cavalry artillery, also employed by honor guards of French-speaking countries in Africa. It is a model from 1822 with a scabbard. The blade is of the “Montmorency” type.
The model was supplied to the Republican Guard but is also used at the Military School for Cadets in Coëtquidan (EMAC).
