This very high-quality melee weapon is a collector's saber. The AN IX model saber was used from 1800-1801 by Napoleon's Hussar regiments, light cavalry units riding swift horses and specializing in scouting and skirmishes. From the new IX-year armament plan, which aimed to reduce the number of regulation sabers per unit to four models: heavy cavalry, light cavalry, dragoons, and infantry.
At the height of Napoleon's power in Europe, after many victorious battles, his army was known for its rapid maneuvers. Officer weapons from this period are very rare.
