Idea behind the Ceramiche ML manufacture
Vehicles inspired by the baroque era, richly decorated ancient Greek temples, soup vases, tables, panels, art décor figurines, and Roman chariots: all those items can be provided by the Ceramiche ML brand that specializes in unique products. It is the result of constant investments and focusing on the cultural heritage of both the company and the area it has been operating in. Many of the projects were designed over fifty years ago by experts who are no longer with us. The goal of such projects was to maintain the timeless historical and artistic value. We have to say that the designers created true marvels that can be admired even nowadays! Prestigious ceramics has always attracted huge interest, especially among true art aficionados from all over the world.
History of the company
Both founders, Luciano and Marilena Tellatin, started their career in the field of pottery when they were only 16 and decided to open their own company after many years of working as employees of two different antique factories. In 1982, in the garage of their house and then – in a small shack, the founders started a new chapter of their lives. An exceptional passion and devotion are features which have made it possible for the brand to thrive and develop, especially with the support of the representative of the younger generation – their son, Alberto. He joined their parents in 2000, after he had been awarded with the title of art tutor by the Art Institute of Nove:. He represents the future of the brand that still has a lot to offer to its clients and partners.
Perennial experience, 30 years of operation in the field, the luxury of the collection, the harmony of forms, respect for work, which is also one-of-a-kind craft, as well as constant investment in the manufacturing heritage are all factors that have made the Ceramiche ML company truly distinguishable, dynamic, respectful towards the past, and looking to the future with enthusiasm.
City where all the masterpieces are created is located in the Vicenza province. It has been considered to be one of the best examples of Italian ceramics tradition continued since the sixteenth century. The area is filled to the brim with artisan knowledge of artists, sculptors, manufacturers, and companies known all over the world. The Nove and Bassano regions are full of manufactures creating ceramic marvels for all the art aficionados to enjoy.
The place in question tells the story of long tradition having its roots in the seventeenth century and is connected with artisans creating exceptional items from clay, „lottame” (a type of limestone containing lots of silicon-based minerals) and kaolin, as well as taking advantage of Brenta river to transport ready-made products and firewood or to make water mills to work. Such buildings have been used to mix clay and grind small stones laying at the bottom of the river.
Yet another factor allowing for the exclusive ceramic tradition to emerge was a decree issued by the Venetian Senate. In the seventeenth century, the demand for beautiful ceramics from China in Europe encouraged Dutch craftsmen to imitate such works of art and in result – flood the market with them. Due to the said fact, in 1729, the Venetian Senate made a decision to increase domestic production by granting tax relief for manufacturers interested in producing porcelain and delivering top quality items. Said decision results in the creation of the Nove ceramic district.
The production area still covers Nove and Bassano communes, which are full of companies that have made a name for themselves worldwide thanks to producing astounding goods which cannot be found anywhere else in Italy.
