The oil painting on canvas is signed and dated at the bottom right Ed Cohen 1866 Weimer, depicting a magnificent Alpine landscape rich in figures and various perspectives. Edvard Cohen (Hanover 1838 - Frankfurt am Main 1910), a landscape painter from Hanover, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and Dresden. 

He is presented in an elaborate French, gilded frame; it is in excellent condition, mounted, and comes from a private residence in Lombardy.
