Description
To commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald, the renowned Italian manufacturer - Montegrappa has decided to release a limited edition dedicated to this historic event.
The Battle of Grunwald is considered one of Poland’s greatest military victories in history. It was also one of the largest battles of medieval Europe. On the battlefield, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order – Ulrich von Jungingen – was killed, along with most of the Order’s senior officials, as well as many knights from Western European countries fighting on the side of the Order.
Although the city of Malbork was not captured after nearly two months of siege, the victorious battle nonetheless had spectacular long-term effects. It was a success for the Polish king and undoubtedly boosted the position of the Jagiellonian dynasty in Europe.
The Battle of Grunwald permanently shook the power of the Teutonic Order, ending the widespread European belief in its dominance and imperial stature.
The pen’s body, front section, clip, and cap ring are made from engraved sterling silver using a special technique. Low-relief techniques created the bas-reliefs on the body, while the two main character motifs were crafted through precise diamond engraving.
The front is topped with a two-tone steel nib made from 18-karat gold, partially rhodium-plated, and a natural ebonite feed. The cap and rear part of the body are made from natural celluloid in a beautiful black color with white reflections. Celluloid is a noble material made from a combination of cotton fibers and mother-of-pearl, dyed with natural pigments.
An exceptional feature of this pen is that all its components were produced through CNC machining with extremely high dimensional and surface quality precision.
To mark the anniversary of such a significant event in Polish history, Montegrappa has created the “600th Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald” pen in a limited, individually numbered edition of 600 pieces.
The pen’s packaging is made of wood, with the lid decorated with a metal plate engraved with the anniversary logo. The symbol of victory and respect that the pen embodies will allow its owner to achieve a similarly great success. We recommend!
