Secessionist style was a total style, encompassing the entire spectrum of design and pattern. Art Noveau, although most popular in Europe, spread at the height of its development across the globe. The fascination with this mysterious, contrast-rich style, full of subtle, feminine patterns, was not only due to admiration for its form. Behind this form stood a design philosophy that encompasses entire lives, which takes on a highly aesthetic dimension – the secessionist style often dominated homes. They were built in the Art Noveau style, furnished in this style, and even the smallest decorative element was inspired by natural structures cherished by artists of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
