Extrapolation of motifs found in a Western-Sicilian cart, reinterpreted in a contemporary tone. Features numerous geometric patterns in bright and lively colors, which combined create a textured surface of colorful geometries, predominantly in yellow, red, blue, and orange.

FROM THE EARTH TO MAJOLICA

Every work begins with a pencil sketch, translating the artist’s thoughts. This shapes the object, transforming imagination into reality. Skilled hands use clay and water to almost magically create desired shapes. After a few days of drying in special conditions, the object reaches the so-called “leather-hard” stage and is ready for the first firing at around 1000°C.

Terracotta is then ready for decoration. This is a phase where the artist gives their all. Often, it’s about giving space for imagination and color.

The production process concludes with a second firing at about 920°C, which enhances the colors’ gloss and preserves the paints for centuries. Sometimes, a third firing is necessary for the desired gloss.
