Art Deco - the diamond of applied arts
Artists associated with the Art Deco movement managed to tame the Secessionist fervor without falling back into academicism. They gave a multitude of colors (inspired by Fauvism) and geometric embellishments a strict order, Development of Art Deco took place in the twenties of the 20th century - the period after World War I, a time of economic growth that brought hopes for a life of prosperity and freedom. This extraordinary style in architecture and design was an expression of these moods. It is highly decorative, luxurious, and bold.
