Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with renowned artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a great nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium, which is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. They have been actively working for over twenty years to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is a highly significant initiative that does great things for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

That is why Ongaro & Fuga’s exquisite mirrors command their price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is genuine luxury and a testament to the strength of European family manufactories. For centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, sharpening edges and smoothing imperfections.
