The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals brought a bold and fresh perspective to art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and elegant Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with outstanding artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a great nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium, which is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. They have been continuously working for over twenty years to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro & Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

It is a truly extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process. It is the work of hands, heart, and soul exhausted by the effort. That is why Ongaro & Fuga’s outstanding mirrors come with a price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and an example of how strong European family manufactories are. Here, for centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, they refine sharp edges and uneven surfaces. And so, from a brilliant idea, a luxurious harmony emerges that combines tradition with modernity! It’s magic—these mirrors, if they wish, can become the focal point of your interior.
