Description

Set of gilded bronze appliqué in Louis XV style, shaped and with plant shoots featuring three arms ending with flower-shaped bobeigs and candle holders in the form of buds. The quality of the gilding, which affects the purity of the casting, is of particular importance.

They originate from the first half of the 20th century, around 1930, and are of French origin.

They are in excellent condition, as candle holders, without electrical installation, and come from a private residence in Milan.

Exclusive antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is an increasing number of enthusiasts for high-quality vintage items that possess a specific character and soul. It is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few key ones stand out. Eclectic furniture dates back to the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Empire-style furniture corresponds to the period between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, emphasizing strong similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also draws heavily from ancient architecture. All antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles are particularly interesting and worth noting. Next is Baroque, a term derived from the Portuguese 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl. These were highly decorative pieces designed to radiate splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were selectively chosen to emphasize the grandeur of these items.

Today, we can observe how much influence the Baroque style has had on modern classic furniture, which is often designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. An important style as well is Renaissance, which flourished in the 15th and 16th centuries and left a significant mark on furniture craftsmanship. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and robust, often using brown stains, moldings, strong bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly speaking, chest-type furniture. Mythology and ancient times also inspired these designs, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion’s paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance-style furniture. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French artisans, as a tribute to and preservation of the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production was perceived differently in each country, giving each style a unique character. This is very important, especially when searching for elegant antique pieces suitable for your interior.

The most important aspect of elite antique furniture is originality. This is ultimately crucial for buyers, as the market is flooded with many forgeries. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item in accordance with its description and photographs. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
