A modern mirror inspired by the Osani Circle photo by Belgian anthropologist Jean-Pierre Hallet - Insidherland

The photo of Osani Circle was taken by Belgian anthropologist Jean-Pierre Hallet in the 1960s (all rights reserved: see PDF); Hallet spent many years with the Efé and loved their communal traditions. 

The human circle inspired the round mirror, which represents the spirit of mutual assistance within this tribe. The ebony veneer reflects the effect of children’s legs stretched around the center, while the aging gold leaf evokes the soles of feet and sun-bleached heads. The circle is an ideal form in which the flow of energy is identical and of equal value; with no beginning or end.
