Description
Hollow is an outdoor sculpture installed on the University of Bristol campus by architects Zeller & Moyne and artist Katie Paterson. It combines various types of wood, as well as artworks composed of samples from over 10,000 tree species.
Inspired by this magnificent structure, Malabar designed the stunning and modern Hollow sideboard. This contemporary sideboard is a unique addition to our World Architects collection.
The sideboard features different types of wood combined with a polished brass structure, creating a beautiful landscape suitable for any modern home decor. The Hollow Modern Sideboard is part of the World Architects collection.
Malabar manufactory was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has showcased its work at major international trade fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for industry exposure.
Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this exclusive brand is rooted in the national architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted techniques, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.
The use of various natural wood manufacturing techniques results in incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold hues dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture.
In addition to wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in their daring furniture designs.
The company’s name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The rarity of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold sea route.
This tradition continues today, as Malabar defines highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. Their designs are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.
And these are the kinds of products we love and bring to the My Luxury Products platform.
