The fascination with this mysterious, contrasting style, rich in subtle, feminine patterns, was not only due to admiration for its form. Behind this form was a design philosophy that encompasses entire lives, which take on a strongly aesthetic dimension — the Secession style often dominated homes. Buildings were constructed in Art Nouveau style, furnished in this style, and even the smallest decorative element was inspired by natural structures loved by artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
