Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a long tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori's innovative rug designs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand capitalized on this trend and expanded its design market worldwide. These elegant rugs gained recognition across the globe, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This gave rise to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and sewn by hand. In this way, a unique and very special rug is created—a noble blend of materials that fits perfectly into contemporary environments and meets the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely from exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international manufacturer selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
