The first steps of Warp & Weft’s New York operation took place in 2001. At that time, Michael Mandapati decided to establish a company specializing in luxury rugs.
They are made from raw materials such as Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, as well as nettles, hemp, or linen. For dyeing, mainly plants are used, which will surely appeal to those who care about ecology.
Each product is crafted in Nepal, where highly trained weavers produce them by hand. Afterwards, the rugs are transported to Switzerland, where they are finished, gaining a unique appearance. Thanks to an increased content of lanolin, these products are softer, more stain-resistant, and have a beautiful sheen.
