The first steps of Warp & Weft’s New York operation took place in 2001. At that time, Michael Mandapati decided to establish a company specializing in luxury rugs.
Their production uses raw materials such as Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, as well as nettles, hemp, or linen. For dyeing, mainly plants are used, which will surely appeal to those who care about ecology.
Each product is made in Nepal, where highly skilled weavers craft them by hand. Afterwards, the rugs are transported to Switzerland, where they are finished, gaining a unique appearance. Thanks to increased lanolin content, these products are softer, more stain-resistant, and acquire a beautiful sheen.
