Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a long tradition of handcrafted knotting. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when the modern design of Sartori rugs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These prestigious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a coveted item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open a headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Since collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea has been paving the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. Thus, the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and highly distinctive rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely using high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
