It is this awareness that influences the complex process of creating their products.
Odegard Carpets was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. They use Himalayan wool from local sheep for their production. These sheep graze at altitudes over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making the rugs more resistant to dirt.
Interesting colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. The designers draw inspiration from Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the colors of the setting sun over the majestic Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets rugs are handcrafted from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is completely natural. Organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron) are used, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
