Odegard Carpets implements the highest quality standards throughout the entire production process. This is achieved not only by selecting top-grade materials but also — and perhaps most importantly — by a strong ecological awareness. It is this awareness that influences the complex process of product creation.
Odegard Carpets started its operations in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. For production, they use Himalayan wool from local sheep. These sheep graze at altitudes over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making the carpets more resistant to dirt.
Interesting colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. The designers draw inspiration from Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the sunset over the majestic Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets are handcrafted from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural. Organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron) are used, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
