Odegard Carpets was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional weaving craft world. It uses Himalayan wool from local sheep for production. These sheep graze at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes Odegard Carpets more stain-resistant.
Interesting colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for creating carpets include Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the sunset over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All OC carpets are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The wool dyeing process is entirely natural. Only organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron are used, maintaining the highest quality standards.
