The brand emerged in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. It often uses Himalayan wool sourced from local sheep. These sheep graze at over 14,000 feet above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This unique feature makes OC rugs more resistant to dirt.
Intense colors are the result of hand processing and dyeing. The inspiration for the rug designs combines Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the spectacle of the setting sun over the beautiful Himalayan peaks.
All OC rugs are handmade from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, using organic materials such as nuts, roots, and saffron, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
