Odegard Carpets began its operations in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. They prefer to use Himalayan wool for production. It comes from sheep grazing at over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC rugs more stain-resistant.
Vibrant colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating the rugs combines Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and—as we can see in this case—nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the hues of the sunset over the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, utilizing only organic materials (such as nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality.
