Odegard Carpets began its operations in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. They prefer to use Himalayan wool for production. It comes from sheep grazing at altitudes over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC rugs more stain-resistant.
Vibrant colors result from hand processing and dyeing. Inspirations for creating the rugs include Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and—as we can see in this case—nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the hues of the sunset over the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, using only organic materials (such as nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality.
