Description

The era of supercharged racing cars began in 1923. Daimler's factory in Untertürkheim, Stuttgart, did not remain idle in the face of this trend and soon began work on a new supercharged vehicle.

This was aimed at developing a new racing car for the 1924 Targa Florio, with Ferdinand Porsche as the new chief designer at Daimler Motor Company. Under his personal supervision, a team of engineers conducted an in-depth review of the 1923 M7294 supercharger engine and developed several groundbreaking improvements. As a result, the maximum power was increased to 126 HP (up to 150 HP by the end of 1924). This was made possible by relocating the Roots blower compressor to the front of the engine. When more power was needed, it could be achieved by firmly pressing the accelerator pedal, causing mechanical action or movement to boost power from the normal 68 HP to 126 HP.

Just before the race, German racing cars, which according to FIA specifications had to be painted white until 1970, were repainted red – thanks to this trick, Mercedes could effectively prevent stones being thrown at the vehicles by Italian fans at multiple local intersections in Sicily. This simple trick allowed for a double victory.

Similarly, at CMC, we decided at the last minute to repaint one of the models, M-206. It will therefore not be delivered in red as previously planned, but in white, as Mercedes initially thought.

We also managed to find new, previously unknown archival materials.

Based on this historically significant foundation, we adapted the vehicles. They feature external fuel pipes and, most importantly, improved narrow racing tires based on new knowledge. Even today, we are confident that the vehicles had two spare wheels at the back, and we have considered this accordingly.

In this version, we offer you a complete model in white, without racing numbers.

Information about Classic Model Cars (CMC)

Exclusive products combined with the highest quality finishings make us synonymous with the German brand Classic Model Cars. This is a true homage to handcrafted products that impress with their unique elegance and luxury.

CMC is one of the leading companies producing miniature vintage cars. The company creates classic and collector’s models using authentic materials and fabrics.

Since 1995, CMC has had its own manufacturing facility with highly qualified engineers and staff in China. The result of months of research is a variety of classic car models, assembled by hand from over 1800 individual parts. The brand uses high-quality materials to fully preserve the “faithfulness to the original” of each vehicle model.

The company focuses on all major and popular collector scales: 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43. The first model produced by the company was in 1:24 scale – the iconic Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1930. Built in 1995, it has won numerous prestigious awards.

Every single element is carefully assembled by hand. Instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The floor lining is installed inside and in the trunk. The replicas replicate the smallest details in accordance with the original plans of the vehicle.
