Description
Crystal-porcelain chandelier Capodimonte with 12 lights featuring a construction made from a solid iron rod gilded in leaf with inlays of flowers, twelve roses, and angels made of white porcelain with gold wings. The structure consists of a porcelain balustrade decorated with porcelain roses at the corners; from this point, six pairs of curved arms extend, ending with candle holders with mignonette fittings. Corresponding to each flower, there are angel musicians. All of this is supported by a golden iron crown in the shape of a flower, adorned with six crystal chains with pearls. It dates from around 1950.
This extraordinary chandelier with a truly unique construction, achieved through a marriage of gilded iron, white and gold porcelain, and crystal, is perfect for both living rooms and romantic bedroom arrangements. It is in excellent condition, re-electrified, completely clean, and restored with missing parts replaced.
Prestigious antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for decorating our interiors. Currently, there is a growing number of enthusiasts for high-quality vintage products that possess a specific character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its distinctive features.
Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few key ones stand out. Eclectic furniture originates from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early variations include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and finally the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
Empire-style furniture and accessories date from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by the reign of Napoleon. This style features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.
Neoclassical furniture, associated with Louis XVI, also draws heavily from ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. The Baroque style, whose name derives from the Portuguese 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture meant to exude splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were chosen selectively to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.
Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a significant mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, often using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and relief decorations. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.
Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance style. Many global brands now reproduce furniture inspired by Italian and French artisans, demonstrating admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It is important to remember that furniture styles were perceived differently in each country, giving each style a unique character. This is especially important when seeking elegant antiques suited to your interior.
The key aspect of elite antique furniture is originality. This is ultimately crucial for buyers, as the market is flooded with counterfeits. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item in accordance with its description and photographs. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
