Description

The modern Emel sideboard complies with strict design directives led by the renowned Italian rationalist architect and designer, Aldo Rossi. Rossi's urban aesthetic influence and Malabar's style converge, creating a contemporary and captivating piece.

The Emel Sideboard is handcrafted, with the central shelves made from ironwood and finished with an eclectic mosaic on the exterior, while the lacquered structure is finished with a high-gloss lacquer and supported by a polished brass base, adding a refined touch to this classic piece with a modern edge.

The Emel Modern Sideboard is part of the World Architects collection.

Malabar was founded in 2012, launching a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has showcased its work at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for exposure.

Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive blend of elegant furniture.

The use of various techniques in working with natural wood results in incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and striking hues dominate, significantly diverging from traditional and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.

The company’s name derives from the Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The rarity of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.

And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and feature on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The brand employs the most exclusive types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger’s eye leaf are applied, followed by lacquering.

Precisely: chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brushed brass, brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
