In 2007, Montegrappa launched its latest annual collection, "Genio Creativo" - Antonio Stradivari. In this newest edition, Montegrappa aimed to pay tribute to the genius of outstanding historical figures. The first edition, a limited annual collection of Genio Creativo, is dedicated to Antonio Stradivari — the brilliant maker of legendary string instruments.

To this day, no one has been able to match this 17th-century luthier, nor break the mystery of the sound quality of the instruments crafted by him. Stradivarius violins are considered the greatest achievements in the history of lutherie, serving as an unmatched benchmark for artisans of later eras. Most of the greatest virtuosos in history played on these instruments. They often bore the names of famous owners, e.g., the 1717 violin called Salerno belonged to Henryk Wieniawski. Authentic Stradivarius instruments are now extremely rare, with only about 1,000 in existence worldwide. Their prices, driven by the art market, start at one million dollars and continue to rise.

Today’s creators of the limited edition of Antonio Stradivari fountain pens have crafted instruments worthy of a virtuoso. Each pen, topped with a white gold nib, is decorated with elements in yellow gold and initials A.S. — the unique signature that master Stradivari used on his works. The delicate, almost sensual design of the collection reflects the shape of the narrowing in the middle of a violin. The clip of the cap is also designed to evoke the strings of an instrument. Additionally, the cap is adorned with an engraving of Montegrappa surrounded by a background of pure topaz — a symbol of human genius’s uniqueness. The true soul of the instrument, however, is the echo produced by the wood used in violin construction. Its color and structure are reflected in the precious resin mass covering the body of the pen. The individual number of each item in the collection is placed on the cap ring.

Master artisans at Montegrappa, through their creativity and passion, have created a masterpiece, whose excellence in turn has become a source of further inspiration.
