In 2007, Montegrappa launched its latest annual collection, "Genio Creativo" - Antonio Stradivari. In this newest edition, Montegrappa aimed to pay tribute to the genius of outstanding historical figures. The first edition, a limited annual collection of Genio Creativo, is dedicated to Antonio Stradivari — the brilliant maker of legendary string instruments.

To this day, no one has been able to match this 17th-century luthier, nor break the mystery of the sound quality of the instruments crafted by him. Stradivarius violins are considered the greatest achievements in the history of luthiery, serving as an unmatched model for artisans of later eras. Most of the greatest virtuosos in history played on these instruments. They often bore the names of famous owners, e.g., the 1717 violin called Salerno belonged to Henryk Wieniawski. Authentic Stradivarius instruments are now incredibly rare, with only about 1,000 in existence worldwide. Their prices, driven by the art market, start at one million dollars and continue to rise.

Today’s creators of the limited edition Antonio Stradivari fountain pens have crafted instruments worthy of a virtuoso. Each pen, topped with a white gold nib, is decorated with yellow gold elements and features A.S. initials. An exceptional signature that master Stradivari used on his creations. The delicate, almost sensual design of the collection reflects the shape of the narrowing violin body in its form. The clip of the cap is also designed to evoke the strings of the instrument. Additionally, the cap is adorned with an engraving of Montegrappa surrounded by a background of pure topaz — a symbol of human genius’s uniqueness. The true soul of the instrument, however, is echoed in the wood used to make the violins. Its color and structure are reflected in the precious resin mass covering the pen’s body. The individual number of each element in the collection is engraved on the cap ring.

Montegrappa’s master artisans, through their creativity and passion, have created a masterpiece, and its perfection has, in turn, become a source of further inspiration.
