The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals gave rise to a distinctive and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and incredible Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with renowned artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these elite mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have continuously worked to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old art of Murano glass. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

What does production look like?

It is a truly extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process—crafted with effort by hands, heart, and soul. That is why Ongaro and Fuga’s exquisite mirrors come at a premium. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and a testament to how strong European family manufactories are. For centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their own hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, sharpening sharp edges and smoothing out imperfections. And thus, from a brilliant idea, an exclusive harmony emerges that combines tradition with modernity! This is magic—these mirrors, if desired, can become the focal point of your interior.
